Lake Tahoe’s summer has been gorgeous and the kids have been loving it! Our local North Lake Tahoe Boy and Girls Club has taken to the streets of Tahoe city in order to raise money and bring smiles to the strolling families of the northern Tahoe region. We at Oliver Luxury Real Estate have the pleasure of working directly with the club, and maybe learning some new sales tactics during Tahoe City’s Sidewalk Saturdays. The second Saturday of every month until September 10 th in the front of our downtown Tahoe city office we will be hosting a snack/clothing stand in support of the kids, run by the kids.
To kick off the start of the summer stand they chose to go with some fresh baked cookies in addition to their summer sunglass line and incredibly soft light hoodies. When I say soft I mean I tried one on and after about 2 hours decided I was unable to give it back making me the proud new owner of 1 XL Boys and Girls Club hoodie. During the slow hours the kids would brainstorm what the people of Tahoe city would want on a hot summer day. The ideas began flowing, much like our Truckee river after such an outstanding winter. From cool beverages to their favorite types of ice cream these kids know exactly what would bring the crowd in.
It’s hard to say I like going to work on a sunny Saturday, but having the pleasure of spending one of those Saturdays a month with these young motivated minds makes it a little easier. It will only get better with every outing and we too have some ideas to keep the business flowing for these boys and girls. Being so young and full of energy makes for a good salesperson and man do they love what they are selling. Things to look out for in the near future are freshly made lemonades, baked goods, ice cream/popsicles, perfect Tahoe style summer wear, and smiles all around.
Be sure to come down to Tahoe City to show your support this summer. These are all local children and anything helps to keep their summer on track. Providing activities and support, the club finds ways to grow and expand the knowledge of our youth. The friendships they gain from this program will follow them throughout their lives, as well as the lessons of responsibility and caring for others. Please don’t let us to be the only ones to have the fun this summer, and be sure to check out the upcoming fundraiser Wine On The Water. The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe in Incline Village on June 12th. Tickets are available now for this outstandingly good time fundraiser. We will see you this week’s Tahoe City’s Sidewalk Saturdays.
