Oliver Luxury Real Estate recently had the opportunity to attend an event in London. The event was a conference concentrated on the latest trends and practices in real estate. In April, a few members of our team attended the annual Christie’s International Real Estate Owners Conference at The Savoy Hotel in London.
“The annual conference is a rare opportunity available only to our network Affiliates to gather with other luxury real estate experts throughout the world and discuss best practices and the latest trends in luxury,” says Dan Conn, Chief Executive Officer, Christie’s International Real Estate. “The collaboration and exchange of ideas, both through guest speakers and networking opportunities, is invaluable to participants because our brokers are the top luxury specialists worldwide. This conference was particularly special given it was in the city where Christie’s started over 250 years ago.”
At the conference, luxury real estate leaders from around the world shared their practices. Speaking on the acceleration of branding, was Rebecca Robins, Global Director of the consultancy firm Interbrand. Carmel J. Allen, Creative Director, and Paddy Byng, Chief Executive, at British design house LINLEY, spoke about tasteful diversities and the art of curating spaces. Also presented, were the Executives from Christie’s and Christie’s International Real Estate, sharing their understanding and visions into the luxury realms of art and real estate.
The highlight of the conference were the panel discussions. These included topics such as influences that shape the property industry and current worldwide factors that have an impact on the luxury real estate market. There were also group-oriented events that attendees engaged in, which included activities like breakout sessions on global market trends, best marketing practices, and the evolving usage of technology in marketing luxury real estate.
To study some of London’s most iconic landmarks, UK Affiliate, Strutt & Parker, hosted a chartered boat trip along the Thames. Guests also were able to attend a reception, located at Christie’s King Street, where photographs from an upcoming auction were on display. The final evening featured the annual Affiliate of the Year Awards dinner and ceremony at the venerable National Gallery in Trafalgar Square.
