Americans Head West to Settle in 2015
The West Coast tech boom is causing many Americans to rethink their location and make a move. Oregon was the number one place to move in 2015 according to United Van Lines. For the third year in a row, Oregon ranks at the top with 123,000 moves. In the past six years the number of people moving to Oregon has increased by 10%.
Americans are motivated to move to find lower cost of living, more jobs, warmer climates, and more green space. Five of the top states to move to in 2015 were West of the Mississippi River. The South was also a popular destination with South Carolina coming in second. On the other hand, New Jersey and New York had the largest number of people moving out of the state.
